The admin pages

These are all under the Admin tab, which appears while admin view is on. Some are also a button beside the zoom on the grid they belong to.

Theme: The group’s name and badge, its band and page colours, and the words the app uses. The name the group was set up with can’t be changed, but the name shown in the app is whatever this page says. Each member’s light or dark mode is their own, in Your settings.

Features: Which parts of the app the group uses. Switching a part off takes its tab off the bar and closes its pages, but nothing is deleted.

The same page has three rules under How answers are changed: Answering for somebody else, A yes on a confirmed event stays and Recording what somebody else can do.

Roles: The group’s offices, and which permissions each one carries: Edits dances, Edits the music, Uploads documents, Corrects sent minutes, Builds dance lists, Edits events, Runs the polls, Plans practices, Management team, Manages members and families and Sees medical details. The offices table shows what each one lets you do. Removing an office takes it off whoever held it, and changes nothing else.

Event types: The kinds of event there are, and the colour each one shows in, if any. Any member can say which type an event is, but only an admin can change the list. The arrows set their order in the list.

Ticking a practice on a type changes nothing on the Events grid while practice dates are switched off. Events of that type are shown with the events like any other, so a one-off practice can still be set.

Look: The grid’s colours, the words shown in its cells, and how long a change stays tinted. These apply to the whole group.

Emails: When the Weekly Digest goes out: the day, the hour, and a start date before which nothing is sent. This is also where you write the sentence at the top of it.

There’s one digest for the whole group, but each member still chooses what they get. The weekly summary for whoever is looking after an event goes on the same day, and this page sets how far ahead it looks. The daily round-up of changes also goes out at the digest’s hour.

It’s also where you set Where replies should go, because nobody reads the app’s own sending address.
