Getting started
Signing in
There’s no password. Instead:
- Put in your email address, and a sign-in link is emailed to you.
- Open the link on the device you want to use.
- Press Sign me in.
That device then stays signed in, so you only do this once on each phone, tablet or computer.
After signing in, you’ll see a short welcome page for that device. It shows how to put the ticksheet on its home screen. It also asks you to turn on notifications for it.
Below that are buttons to Your settings and Your member details.
If you have no email address on file, or you’re standing in a field with no way to read one, use the group passphrase instead, then pick your name from the list.
If the link doesn’t arrive
Check your junk or spam folder first. If it’s not there, the ticksheet probably has an old email address for you, or none at all.
Report it on the Trouble signing in page, which works without signing in, and an admin will put it right.
Putting it on your home screen
It’s worth a minute. You get an icon like any other app, no browser bars, and you never have to look for the ticksheet again.
iPhone or iPad
- In Safari, tap Share (the square with an arrow pointing up), or ••• first if you can’t see it.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- If there’s an Open as Web App switch, make sure it’s on.
- Tap Add.
The first time you open the new icon, it asks you to sign in once more, then stays signed in.
Android
- In Chrome, tap the three dots at the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen or Install app.
Chrome often offers this by itself, in a bar along the bottom.
Computer
There’s nothing to install. Bookmark it, add https://nyfte.sideminder.co.uk as a desktop shortcut or use the link in the Weekly Digest to bring you back.
Turning on notifications
Notifications pop up on your device, like a message from any other app. Each device is turned on separately:
- Press Turn on for this device, on the welcome page or on Your settings.
- Allow notifications when your browser asks.
- Press Send a test to check one arrives.
On an iPhone or iPad, notifications only work from the home-screen icon, so put the ticksheet on your home screen first.
To choose what you’re told about, see Your settings.
