Your settings

Your settings are for how you use the app, and live under your name at the top right. Your details as a member of the group are on your own page instead: your name on the Members page.

There are three main parts.

Your calendar: Add the calendar link once, and events appear in your phone’s calendar by themselves. Keep the link to yourself (see Security).

Being told things: What the app tells you about, and how. There are two groups:

Everything starts switched on. Each one can come by email (the left column), as a notification (the right column), or both.

Notifications also have to be switched on for each device, using Turn on for this device under the list. Each device has to give its own permission, so switching them on for your phone does nothing for your tablet.

Your devices: Everything signed in as you, each with a Sign out button and a name you can change (see Security).

Light or dark mode is set here too, separately for each device. It starts on light.

At the bottom is the version of the app you’re using, and See what changed. That’s where to check whether something you reported has been put right.

What arrives, and when

Emails about something happening are gathered up and sent at most once a day, so five new bookings in one evening means one email, not five. Two things don’t wait:

Notifications are never gathered up.

Checking it works

To check your emails arrive, press Send me the Weekly Digest under Send a test email. It sends you this week’s Weekly Digest straight away, or tells you there’s nothing in it.

To check notifications on a device, press Send a test beside Turn on for this device. If they stop arriving, open Your settings on that device: that alone puts right the usual cause.

The Weekly Digest

The Weekly Digest sorts things into groups: what you still need to answer, your maybes, your yeses, what you’ve committed to on a confirmed booking, and what you can’t make.

Its Yes, No and Maybe buttons record your answer without you having to sign in. Maybe is the same as Pos on the Events grid. You’re only offered answers you haven’t already given.

Emails about an event being added or moved have the same buttons.

Each button works once. It shows you what it’s about to record before recording it, and it won’t answer for anything that has already happened.
